Roots Before Flowers
For a long time, I thought growth was supposed to be visible.
Grades, titles, timelines, announcements — proof that life was moving forward.
But the last few years taught me something different.
They taught me that the most important work happens underground.
Over these years, I learned how to carry responsibility quietly.
I worked full days, then returned to unfinished dreams at night.
I stayed committed to learning, even when the path felt unclear.
I chose consistency over comfort, and discipline over ease.
There were no dramatic breakthroughs — just steady effort.
Showing up tired.
Learning through pressure.
Building direction while already in motion.
Some seasons felt slow.
Others felt heavy.
There were moments I questioned my pace, wondering if I was behind while life around me seemed to move faster.
But now, looking back, I see it clearly:
I wasn’t late.
I was growing roots.
Roots of resilience from balancing work and study.
Roots of confidence from surviving what once felt overwhelming.
Roots of faith from trusting God when answers came slowly.
I learned to sit with uncertainty without losing myself.
To think deeply about impact, ethics, and meaning — not just achievement.
To move forward without needing applause.
And now, I turn 27.
Twenty-seven feels quieter than I expected — but stronger.
It holds the weight of what I’ve already done:
the years of learning, the discipline I built, the direction I clarified, and the courage to keep choosing growth even when it was uncomfortable.
Ya Allah,
Thank you for every version of me that didn’t give up.
For the work done in silence.
For the protection hidden in delays.
As I step into 27,
I pray for steadiness over speed,
alignment over approval,
and the courage to bloom in my own season.
May this year bring clarity without rush,
strength without hardness,
and faith that continues to anchor me — even when the path remains quiet.
Happy 27th birthday to me.
Rooted. Becoming.
And trusting that when the flowers come,
they’ll come at the right time. 🤍
