When Stories Become Dreams

Assalammualaikum and hello everyone,

When people ask about the author who inspires you, you probably already have a favourite in mind, right?
For me, it is - without a doubt - John Green.

You might be wondering, why him?
For me, it’s because of the inspiration his writing gives and the way his words resonate so deeply. His works feel genuine, powerful, and meaningful - and yes, I’ll admit it, I’m a big fan. Even though there are many authors I admire, he remains one of my favourites. Hehehe…

I was especially drawn to his novel The Fault in Our Stars. Not only that, I would honestly be willing to queue for hours - maybe even travel across countries - just to get my hands on his books. Sounds dramatic? Maybe. But that’s how much his writing means to me. Of course, I’ve also bought several of his books from nearby bookstores.

What I love most, however, is not just his stories but the inspirational words he shares. I take those words and let them inspire me in return. Is that possible? Of course it is. Sometimes, a single quote or sentence can give us the strength and motivation to keep going through life’s challenges. It’s not impossible at all. So today, I’d like to share one of his inspirations.

Quotes of John Green

For now, I think I want to start writing for myself - to look back one day and remember these moments. Who knows? Perhaps something I write might inspire others, too. I’ve always been interested in writing, and I dream of publishing my own novel or book someday - maybe years from now. Maybe yes, maybe no.

But regardless of the outcome, everything begins with ourselves. Trying something new, creating something meaningful, and feeling satisfied with our own efforts matter most. Whatever we choose to do, as long as it brings us joy and fulfillment, it is worth doing.

So I think I will start writing - slowly, step by step. Even while I’m still busy studying in high school, I’ll try to write a little, just for people to enjoy. Sometimes, we don’t immediately know what we’re truly passionate about. But as long as what we do brings benefit and happiness, that journey itself is meaningful.

That’s all I’d like to share for now.
May we meet again.
